I have lived in the Peace Country for
more than 40 years now on a ranch on the Alaska Highway at Mile 86.5. (That
would be kilometer 134, for those of you that are totally converted to the
metric system!)
I have always participated in various crafts over the years---making moccasins
and mukluks, beaded and plain, as well as other types of leather work--sewing
and tooling, macramé', candle making, chocolate making, sewing, sign making,
paper tole, wood working, and now, tole and fine art painting. My most recent
passion is the making of wine at home. There is a lot to learn, and a lot is
learned by trial and error. Most of the time the end result is well worth the
time it takes to gather the fruit, and then the wait while the fermenting
process takes place.
I still do a fair amount of teaching for the various crafts, in my home, or
yours, or in places such as Crafty Folks. I really enjoy the great outdoors, my
garden and my flowers. Having said this, you can see that the summer is my most
favorite time of the year!
